Message for the patients

Dear Patients,

We at Waverley Practice are writing to address the recent findings of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessment. We understand that the report may have caused concern, and we want to assure you that we are committed to providing the highest quality care possible.

The CQC has identified areas where we need to improve, particularly in relation to safety, effectiveness, and leadership. We are committed to addressing the identified issues quickly and effectively and our team are already working through an action plan to do so. Our priority is to ensure that every patient receives safe and effective care. We are implementing robust measures to enhance our safety protocols, including:

· Strengthening incident reporting and learning processes: We are establishing more formal systems for sharing information from significant events and complaints to identify areas for improvement.

· Ensuring staff competency: All staff will undergo regular training to maintain their skills and knowledge, and we are reviewing recruitment processes to ensure that only qualified individuals are employed.

· Improving medicines management: We are implementing stricter procedures for monitoring patients’ medications, ensuring they receive necessary reviews and alerts, and ensuring that emergency medicines are always available.

We are also working to enhance our governance and leadership processes to ensure that risks are effectively identified and managed. This includes strengthening our patient feedback mechanisms and using that feedback to drive improvements in our services.

We are pleased that the CQC rated us as ‘good’ for caring and responsiveness and that feedback indicated that patients are largely positive about their treatment, access to appointments and the way our team treat them. However it is clear that we need to improve in a number of areas. We apologise for any inconvenience or distress that this report may have caused. Your trust is of utmost importance to us, and we are determined to improve in the areas identified so we can provide you with the best possible care.

We are committed to transparency and will continue to keep you informed of our progress. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,

The Waverley Practice Team – Dr Gupta.
